I can plainly see the arguments for all three and it is clear why this is such a contentious discussion. Pros: The most organic PvP meta considering PvE leveling progression, the most approachable NG+ progression, huge potential build varietyĬons: Strong potential for "master of all" builds dominating the meta, outrageous damage:health ratios It's a messy level for PvP, but also the most "organic" and approachable one, and allows the most comfortable progression into NG+ for those tasty upgraded talismans. When you set the PvP meta at 150, especially in the presence of talismans that can give 15-20 levels worth of stats, you will undoubtedly run into the problem of 60/60 quality builds doing 2500 damage with a jump heavy or 80 intellect builds with 130 poise and endless FP casting one-shot spells. We could absolutely run into the "Dark Souls 2 Problem" of max-poise, Havel wearing sorcerers with fast rolls one-shotting you with sorceries from a football field away. Scaling softcaps are much higher in ER than previous titles implying that FromSoft intended for players to push those levels. Many spells, weapons and talismans require egregious stat investments of 50, 60 or even 70 to wield. You can easily hit RL150 without farming at all just completing NG content. Pros: NG PvE is more accessible at this level, stats aren't so inflated as to muddy build specialization or allow for very greedy set-ups, many players will find they can stop leveling around here on their mains and not need a dedicated PvP characterĬons: Many players will have blasted past this point leveling organically, NG+ will still be painful at this level I feelĮlden Ring's leveling is clearly significantly longer than past titles. RL 125 is a far more comfortable level to beat NG on, and many players could easily find themselves within about 10 RLs of this mark and not feel too under-leveled for the game's harder content. The extra stats allow for builds to hit those 60, 70 and even 80 main-stat soft caps while still reigning in some of the more egregiously greedy builds that can be seen at higher levels. Right in the middle, this RL PvP Meta is, in many ways, "the best of both worlds". Pros: Build specialization, reasonable damage:health ratioĬons: Not an "organic" level for beating the game, brutal for NG+ progression, players will likely have to abandon "main" characters and create PvP specific characters for this RL. Remember, talismans such as Radagon's Soreseal and Marika's Soreseal and Erdtree's Favor +1 all give a huge number of stats to help elevate an otherwise "stat-dry" PvP meta level. With a RL-80 build you can easily hit 40 vigor, 40-50 main-stat and have enough left over points for reasonable amounts of endurance and supporting stats. The lowest of the three obvious options, this choice gives the highest degree of damage / health balance and also forces players to specialize in their chosen build. I would hope we can reach some kind of majority opinion here shortly, as many players are just now finishing the game. So I'll lay out my arguments for the RL 80, RL 125 and RL 150 meta levels and then finish off with a poll.

There isn't really a right answer here - both the lower and higher meta levels are poor choices for different reasons. I believe that one of the reasons this decision seems so contentious is because both sides of the argument have excellent points. Since this discussion still seems to be lacking a consensus, I wanted to make an updated thread.
